Lauren Wilson

Managing Director & Founding Principal
LLB (Hons), BBusCom, BTeach, GradDipLaw (Emp), GDLP, Master of Applied Law (Family Law) (currently completing)

Lauren founded Village Family Lawyers because she had seen, from multiple angles, what separation does to a family, and she believed there had to be a better way through it.

Today, she leads a team of highly experienced family lawyers and support professionals who share that same commitment to helping clients move forward with clarity, confidence, and dignity. Under Lauren’s leadership, Village Family Lawyers has built a reputation for providing strategic, resolution-focused advice that prioritises practical outcomes while minimising unnecessary conflict.

Lauren trained and previously qualified as a Nationally Accredited Mediator, and is an experienced family lawyer with a career that spans banking and finance, education, legal consulting, and family law practice. Her background in business and finance, combined with her legal expertise, gives her a strong commercial perspective when advising clients on complex property settlements, financial agreements, and matters involving significant assets or intricate family dynamics.

While she is highly experienced in litigation and has appeared across the Magistrates’ Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Lauren’s focus has always been on helping families resolve disputes before they reach that point. Her mediation training gives her a deep understanding of negotiation, conflict resolution, and the practical realities of helping people reach agreement when emotions run high and the stakes are high.

Lauren is also deeply committed to lifelong learning and to the ongoing development of best practices in family law. She believes that great legal advice requires continuous growth, curiosity, and a willingness to evolve alongside the families and communities lawyers serve.

As both a parent and former teacher, Lauren brings a practical understanding of children’s needs, family dynamics, and the challenges parents face during separation. That perspective informs her advice and reinforces her commitment to achieving outcomes that support the long-term well-being of children and families.

Lauren believes the quality of a family law firm is measured not only by the outcome achieved but by how clients feel throughout the process and when their matter concludes. That philosophy continues to shape the culture and direction of Village Family Lawyers.

Outside of work, Lauren enjoys the beaches and wineries of the Mornington Peninsula, cheers on her daughters at local sports, and serves as Vice President of Dress for Success Victoria, an organisation dedicated to supporting women to build independence and confidence.
